On Saturday, July 19th....there is Good News and Bad News...Bad News first, Donelson lost to Columbia 14-4, the Good News is they are not finished yet!!!...they play again tomorrow, Sunday, July 20th!!!
Good Luck Donelson -- we know you are going to BRING IT TO COLUMBIA tomorrow!!!!
Wow! Donelson is headed for the championship game on Saturday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m.!!! Currently, they are the only UNDEFEATED team in the Tournament! Way to GO!!!
On Thursday, July 17th, they played Lexington and won 3-2!
According to our roving reporter and photographer, the 1st batter for Lexington cranked it over the fence. Obviously, this did not intimidate Donelson at all...they played some awesome defense including some beautiful double plays! Add to that consistent hitting and base running and they brought another win home for Donelson Little League!!!
Next stop is the Championship Game on Saturday...stay tuned!
Pictures were received from Coach Kevin (back and forth to West TN...that's some dedication!) and they're loading to the server right now...you should be able to access them by early Friday (7/18)... Click Here to go to Donelson Minor Pics

The team started their game on Saturday and got rained out in the 4th inning...they came back and finished the game on Sunday at 3:00p.m. defeating the team from Decatur County - 8 to 3.
Our very own roving reporter, Teresa Brown, reports that even though the first game was spread out over two days, the team has weathered such ups and downs as the incredible heat, staying at a hotel about a 30 to 40 minute drive from the ballpark, and an injury to the starting pitcher, Timmy...he took a hit during warm-up that left one eye very swollen (not to mention a bloody nose and mouth for a while) and after spending at least a 1/2 inning with medical personnel, he returned to the game and hit a double!!! Now that's a passion for baseball and playing with all your heart and giving your best for the team! Way to go Timmy! (hang in there Heather...)
Also worthy of mention is the wonderful hospitality shown to the team by the Army National Guard, Troop B-230, Squadron 278... The team arrived on Saturday early enough to get checked in, but it did not make much sense to make the nearly hour and a half round-trip back to the hotel before a 5pm game so they stayed....AND IT WAS HOT!!!!
One of the parents used to be in the Reserves and spotted the National Guard office next to the ball field and went over to inquire about an air conditioned room where the team could relax and wait until game time. The National Guard personnel not only invited them in, but they made them cookies, started a movie and really made everyone feel welcome -- of course, they will get a nice Thank You note from the team when they return home....in the meantime, we wanted everyone to know about a tremendous group of military personnel and just plain ole nice people that helped the team out in Huntington, Tennessee!!!
It sounds like everyone is having a great time...Good Luck and Have Fun!!!!
